“Shade, shade and more shade!
When I transitioned from a wagon to an aluminium canopy setup, I had a conundrum to solve with what awning to use. You see most awnings on the market are designed for wagons and don't allow for easy access to my gear through the canopy door.
That's where the WKND 450 Self-Standing Awning comes in, specifically designed for canopy setups. It is essentially a combination of 180-degree and 270-degree awnings. The awning support arms come out perpendicular allowing the canopy door to fully open in between the arms providing maximum headroom.
It has a generous size and unique design and offers an impressive arc that covers the full side of the vehicle as well as the rear, surpassing traditional awnings.
To support the dramatically increased surface area, I took a robust approach by designing the support arms to span the entire width of the rear mounting plate. This allows each arm to provide maximum bracing strength across its entire length.
It's a well-designed awning that enables a single-person straightforward set up. Quick-release buckles or hooks make it convenient to attach and detach the awning, and for those days with horrible weather, there are 3 drop-down poles to keep it steady in high winds.
