Four-wheel driving and camping have been my passions since I handed over a wad of cash for my first 4x4 at the age of 16—a 1996 Suzuki Sierra coily. It was small and cheeky, just reliable enough to get the job done, but it allowed me to explore those hard-to-find places, igniting a passion for adventure. From having to maneuver it out of Wilbinga dunes without a working clutch pedal to getting so stuck in the mud at Dwellingup that the clutch plate rusted to the flywheel.

I've always driven older vehicles that I've had to build from the ground up. I've had to figure out what might break first and then modify it to prevent issues. Reliability is something I've always created rather than bought. With that same passion, I founded WKND Warriors touring gear, only adding what's necessary based on real-life results, which often contradict conventional expectations in a tent, awning, or touring canopy. The truth is, I'm a firm believer in the K.I.S.S principle (Keep It Simple, Stupid). If you ever wonder why a WKND Warriors product doesn't have extra features or uses a specific canvas, it's because I've thoroughly tested it. For me, ease of use and reliability always come first.
