At WKND Warriors, we understand that every vehicle, adventure and owner is different. From canopy weights and garage clearance to custom designs and deposits, here are answers to some of the questions we hear most often.
1. How much does a WKND Warriors canopy setup weigh?
The weight of your setup depends on your vehicle, canopy dimensions and chosen accessories.
As a real-world example, a fully fitted-out Isuzu D-MAX we worked on weighed approximately 2.64 tonnes after conversion, compared with 2.4 tonnes before.
That's an increase of just 240 kg, despite the build including:
- An 1800 mm tray and approximately 1600 mm canopy
- A 1.1m pull-out drawer and preparation table
- A 70l poly water tank and trundle drawer
- Sealed heavy duty trundle drawer
- Side boxes and front infill panels
- Lighting and central locking
- Jerry can, ladder and spare tyre carrier
Every build is different, and we consider weight throughout the design process to help you achieve a practical setup without unnecessary weight.
We'll also discuss your vehicle's payload capacity and intended use to help you make informed decisions about your build.
2. Will my custom canopy fit in my garage?
Absolutely — we can customise your canopy dimensions to suit your requirements.
Whether you need a higher roof for work, extra storage for touring or a lower-profile canopy to fit inside your garage, we can tailor the design to your needs.
We can customise the overall height and length of your canopy to suit your vehicle and how you plan to use it.
If garage clearance is important, let us know during your initial consultation. We'll work with your measurements to design a setup that meets your requirements.
3. What deposit is required to start my build?
We generally require a $5,000 deposit to get the process underway.
Once your deposit is paid, we can begin planning your build.
The next payment is typically not required for another 2–3 months, giving you time to prepare for the next stage.
For larger or more complex builds, we'll discuss the deposit amount and payment schedule during your initial consultation.
Our aim is to make the process straightforward, with clear expectations from the beginning.
4. Can you create a custom setup based on photos or ideas I've seen?
Absolutely! Customisation is what we do.
If you've seen a drawer system, canopy layout, storage solution or unique feature that you'd love to incorporate into your build, bring your ideas to us.
Whether it's a photo you've found online or something you've imagined yourself, we can work with you to create a setup that suits your vehicle, lifestyle and budget.
During your initial consultation, we'll discuss your ideas and provide an indicative quote.
For more complex or one-off designs, we'll refine the details during the design phase. As materials, dimensions and specifications are finalised, the estimated price may increase or decrease.
